Don't read this(/spoiler) -becomes. So I have always been a big huge fan of the game, I no longer have a PS3 or PS2 to play any of the remakes and I do not want to go buy all the games and or games for them just for Kingdom Hearts. I know there are emulators out there but can someone lead me in the right direction on how to play the series in the right order and where to get the right emulators to play them.

It has been on my mind for the longest time since I heard they are coming out with Kingdom Hearts III ans other games in the series too. Google goes a long way here - there have been plenty of threads like this, and 'system name emulator' does a pretty good job of bringing up the right results for me, at least.

For what it's worth, the PS3 versions have some additional content - fanmade patches for KH2 and BBS make nearly all of this available, but the graphics are still a little worse and the music's not the remastered version. (On the other hand, you'll probably have better load times.). KH1 - there's a Final Mix English patch, but it's buggy.

Maybe stick with the original. (The PS3 remake has skippable cutscenes and camera controls on right stick, plus misc changes like reworked difficulties.) If you still have your disc copy, you can play it from that. PCSX2's wiki has setup recommendations for KH games. Remember, though, that PS2 emulation requires a sturdy CPU, rather than GPU - the KH games are pretty well-optimized, at least, but framerate drops also tank the sound. Re:Chain of Memories - I've never tried emulating this, since my copy's fine, but I've never heard of anyone having significant issues. KH2 - I like 's patches, if you want to play Final Mix (new difficulty mode, 20 new boss fights, half hour of new cutscenes, etc). Get the one that 'restores' the new cutscene audio.

358/2 Days - Get from the bottom of this page. Get a controller. Birth by Sleep - There's a Final Mix translation patch for this one, too, IIRC. The Mirage Arena content is a fair bit harder on PSP than it is in 2.5 Remix, because it expects you to be using local multiplayer.

If you want Final Mix to be hilariously easy, I'll toss you my old JP 1.0 clear data so you can unlock bonus stuff. Re:Coded - sprite-heavy, so x432r might not help so much here? The DS emulator of your choice is probably fine. Dream Drop Distance - you could give Citra a shot, but I don't think it's playing games like KH3D at full speed yet? A PS4 and 2.8 (releasing in January) are a better bet, I think, if that's an option.

Unchained X - Amiduos ($10 after a month) & RemixOS (via VMWare) both work, though you'll get some awful slowdown anytime a gummi copter exists too close to you. If you have an iOS or Android device, you don't even need an emulator. Yep, that's the order I'd recommend, and the order in which the games were released. An iPad cannot emulate PS2 games, at all (Play! For Android can boot the game, but not play it to completion). There is, apparently, a DS emulator accessible without jailbreaking (NDS4iOS?), but I can't find any instructions for anything newer than iOS 9.

Requires Cydia or a jailbreak. I don't have any experience with emulating on mobile devices (or on Macs), unfortunately. My current laptop runs PCSX2 at pretty nice settings with very little issue, but it's a tanky gaming laptop; my six-year-old previous one topped out around 50 FPS with as few models as possible on screen.
