Hi Everybody, I have come across a Smith & Wesson model 3000 shotgun in a pawn shop for $169.00. It is green in color. Yes it is used but a good gun from my inspection. It has a 20 inch barrel as far as I could tell, it might be shorter. It has the original front site.
I would like to add this nice little gun to my collection. Does anybody know anything about them? What is your opinion of them reliablility wise and parts availability if it ever needed some work? Please let me know, Thanks in advance Regards, Frosty. Hey frosty, I picked up an S&W 3000 about a year ago for $125 (o.t.d.) It was a police trade in and although it has some external wear, it had almost no real mechanical wear on the inside.
It came with a mag ext. In place, and it's a great gun. I hate to say this, but mechanically I think it is probably a better made gun than even my old Wingmasters(as I now dive for cover!). I can only back this up by saying that I built very high quality machinery for about 7 years. I feel that the Japanese at Howa were able to take the 870 design and tweak it, improving it slightly but improving it none the less. If my life was going to depend on it, I would grab the Howa first. The Firearms Forum is on online community for all gun enthusiasts.

The guy who is sleeping with my wife has the actual S&W manual for the Model 1000; ) ko41, my manual is different than yours and appears to be older. Yes, it is one sheet, however it contains a complete parts list, 14' x 11' exploded view of the the entire gun. Dduxda, shoot me a PM. Australian simulation glasair iii fsx acceleration. I can make a copy of this an either email or send you a hard copy. Also, there is a rubber O ring in these guns. They do not handle cleaning solvents very well, so take it easy!

Don't go nuts with cleaning solvent and oils. There was a shop, Lone Star Guns, in Texas. They were selling a synthetic replacement O ring that was impervious to cleaning solvents, etc. They had a fire years ago, but I believe they reopened. Ron2vettes 05:29 PM.
